Google’s in-car infotainment projection standard sends a (h.264-encoded) video feed to a vehicle head unit and responds to inputs from touch-sensitive display, buttons, and trackpad gestures from the vehicle’s own controls. This system can provide UI (User Interface) controllers for audio apps and navigation software, including Google Maps, Waze, and TomTom. Unlike CarPlay, Android Auto devices support multitouch gestures such as pinch and zoom.
