MUX switch

While most modern laptops have switching graphics, both integrated (aka iGPU) and dedicated graphics processors (dGPU), laptops featuring a MUX switch allow the integrated graphics to be deactivated entirely in favor of the more power-hungry dedicated graphics processor (aka GPU). This results in worse battery life, but better performance for some types of tasks.
