Access Point is typically a device that distributes a WiFi traffic from an Ethernet-based network to portable or IoT devices. The Ethernet backbone can allow the network to redirect traffic between multiple Access Points as a devices varies in proximity between them. The controller uses signal strength calculations and Fast Roaming to ensure traveling devices disconnect from a further point and connect seamlessly to the closer point without interruption.
