WiFi6 (or 802.11AX), the successor to the 802.11AC standard, allows for greater throughput in devices like phones, computers, and IoT devices. Coordinated timing algorithms allow for lower latency. WiFi6 and 6e are poised to replace Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) in terms of performance, for certain types of tasks.
