This term was apparently coined by Govee, a German company specializing in IoT (Internet of Things) lighting and thermal monitoring hardware and software for indoor and outdoor applications. Red/Green/Blue (RGB) lights are controlled by a modular Integrated Circuit (IC) controller inside a small plastic enclosure. These sophisticated systems allow each LED cluster to be addressed individually or in segments. Variations of RGBIC lights can be connected using WiFi or Bluetooth and triggered using schedules, sound (intended for music), or digital assistant commands through Alexa or Google Assistant.
